Leaving the Genoa Holiday means to find yourself already immersed in the atmosphere of the "Caruggi".
The historical center of Genoa (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) is an intricate maze of alleys. Walking around you will find small squares, churches, noble palaces, votive shrines, historic shops, smells and scents. There is a medieval city of stone to discover, a noble city of hidden treasures, a city rich in art, but above all, a Superb city (haw was it called).
As we said: the moment you step out of the gate, you have already "entered" the city.
Already you are between Piazza Banchi with its “Loggia” and “Via Sottoripa” (where the sea came in and the goods were lowered in ancient times); you touch Palazzo San Giorgio (imagining the time when Marco Polo was imprisoned there) and then you turn your gaze upstream and choose ....
...Within a radius of 500 meters you will find most of the most famous tourist attractions: The Cathedral of San Lorenzo, the Ducal Palace, Piazza De Ferrari, Porta Soprana and the Columbus House, Palazzo Bianco, Palazzo Rosso, Palazzo Spinola, Porta di Vacca (to name but a few).
Beyond, but not by much, there is Palazzo Reale, Spianata Castelletto, the Prince's Villa, Castello D'Albertis, the Casella train, and much more...
But if you turn your gaze towards the sea, you will realize that you are already in the Porto Antico area, returned to the city in 1992 by Renzo Piano's urban project, where you can decide, under the light of the lantern, to walk among the ancient docks, starting from the Molo district, Porta Siberia and the Magazzini del Cotone, to the ancient dock where the Galata Museum is located, passing by the Aquarium of Genoa and the Galeone. With a boat trip you can enjoy the view of Genoa from the sea.
